Breathedge 2 entered Steam Early Access on 31 August 2026 with the first major story chapter, a large area and its core systems. The developer expects roughly 16–20 months in Early Access, but scope, order and dates may change.

Launch baseline — available now
The official roadmap lists a complete playable section of the first story chapter, around ten hours as a rough target, one large location, survival and space exploration, gathering, crafting, upgrades, repairs, combat, main and side quests, and NPCs.

First major update — targeted Q1 2027
The roadmap targets a story continuation, new mechanics, a personal light vehicle, personal ship and outfitting, plus new locations, NPCs, tools, loot and DIY.

Feature expansion — targeted Q3–Q4 2027
Plans include more chapters and locations, planetary gameplay, building, minigames, warp travel and expanded ship, vehicle, crew and DIY systems.

Version 1.0 — targeted 2028
The published plan places the final story chapters and final improvements in 2028. Steam separately estimates 16–20 months in Early Access and warns that development can change.
