What changed for players and the Wiki
Why the demo was rebuilt
The team concluded that dense dialogue, events and objectives hid a lack of mechanical depth. It kept the story-driven comedy but moved the main gameplay focus back to survival, exploration and crafting.
Progression became less linear
Instead of gathering a fixed resource total and following a marker, players are meant to solve barriers such as cold, heat or hostile robots through equipment, healing or alternate routes.
DIY connects tools and equipment
The update describes modular categories including Sharp, Impact, Utility, Protective, Active, Capacity and Biological. Modules can alter tools, suit equipment and environmental interactions, but exact launch stats require a current-build check.
The world follows shared rules
Heat, cold, water, electricity, fatigue, hunger, gear wear, robot behavior and buffs or debuffs were designed to interact. This is stronger evidence for system relationships than for a specific recipe or number.
